🦄 Unicorner Startup of the Week: Bubble

 ✍️ Notes From The Editors
Happy Monday! A quick note to Gmail users about last week’s issue: we got some reports that our email was sent to the Promotions tab for people with filters enabled. If you weren’t able to check out the article on Writer, be sure to read it on our website (FYI: to avoid having our emails sent to the Promotions tab, be sure to move our emails to the Primary tab. Here’s a guide from Google on how to do it.).

As two individuals with technical backgrounds, we think the idea of removing technical obstacles for entrepreneurs is important. That’s why we wanted to shine a light on Bubble. Let us know what you think!

🔮 Our Analysis
The origin story of Bubble starts with how co-CEO Josh Haas, who had prior technical experience, tried building a very niche startup with a non-technical founder. While he recognized the need for that company’s product, revenue just wasn’t enough to justify the salary of two founders. When he left the startup, he knew he wanted to build a product that could empower non-technical people like his previous co-founder to build their ideas without having to rely on a developer. As such, democratizing access to web development has been core to Bubble’s mission since its founding in 2012, and over the past decade, the company has expanded on that goal. Compared to most website builders, Bubble’s product is quite robust. With features like workflows, dynamic content, and easy API connections, it’s possible to create web applications with features previously only available on custom-coded apps. Bubble also makes it easy to learn and collaborate with others in the community with Bubble Academy and Marketplace, respectively. Overall, no-code has already had a large impact on recent startups, and we expect to see its effect on the future of building products grow.
